Akita is a prefecture in the Tohoku region of Japan. It’s a rural area that offers many unique experiences and beautiful scenery. In this post, I talk about the top attractions here and some hidden gems.

Serious Akita Winters

My Favorite Akita Festivals

Every prefecture in Japan has its own seasonal festivals. Akita has quite a few, but two have really stood out to me in the past years. Due to the amount of snow, it’s no surprise that Akita is known for lively winter festivals. I look forward to them every year because I really get the chance to enjoy the snow!
